Now entering its 5th year, the Collegiate Golf Tour (sponsored by Nike Golf) aims to give promising young golfers currently studying towards a further or higher education qualification the opportunity to meet and compete with like-minded individuals from all over the world in an atmosphere of exciting learning.

The Tour has been established to compliment students’ academic study, providing a refreshing ‘outlet’ from the testing, yet essential assignment work, and its success can be seen and measured by the number of playing members, which has grown significantly since its conception in 2001 to 164 members in 2005 / 2006.

Acting as a launch pad for the stars of tomorrow, the Tour provides a chance for up and coming youngsters to gain the necessary experience in a competitive tournament environment, aiming to identify ‘the best of the best’ and hopefully nurture them into the champions of the future.

Events are run to coincide with the academic calendar from September through to the following May and are designed, as best possible, to avoid coinciding with any other regional or national events.

Students currently compete at such great venues as Formby, Ganton, St. Anne’s Old Links, Southport & Ainsdale, Mere Golf & Country Club, the Marriott Worsley Park Hotel & Country Club and Royal Lytham & St. Anne’s.

We look forward to another successful year, again finishing in the warm, sunny climate of Vilamoura, Portugal at our end-of-season ‘Tour Championship’ where we ascertain the “Tour Champion” for the 2005 / 2006 season.
